Ruger von Rhinow is a large, striking looking, 3-4 year old German Shepherd. This handsome hunk has a very affectionate, submissive demeanor towards his people and is attentive and wants to please. At about 90 pounds, he is a strong boy and sometimes will pull on leash; however, he’s a very good listener. He has a mid-level energy and takes treats gently.  Ruger has an impressive shepherd gait and walks well in a pack of dogs he knows; if he spots a dog outside his pack, he is learning not to bark (an adopter has the option of a free obedience class at the rescue). He mostly does his own thing in playgroups and tries to satisfy his curiosity, but he is very happy off the leash.  He’s just “one of the guys” in canine playgroups. He is eager for your approval, showing off skills like sit, down and paw.
